Author Chris Wark was diagnosed with stage III colorectal cancer in 2003. Unlike most people, Chris chose nutritional and lifestyle treatment instead of chemotherapy. To this day, Chris remains healthy and shares his story to help others.
In the first part of the book, the author recounts how he received his cancer diagnosis and why he chose not to undergo chemotherapy. He then discusses the dangerous side effects of medications, especially cancer treatments; the risks of radiation therapy; and the biased and misleading statistics.
In the second half of the book, the author details the knowledge he gathered and the methods he used to overcome cancer. Having experienced the feelings of confusion, fear, and uncertainty at a crossroads, his insights are incredibly helpful for both patients and their families considering alternative therapies.
According to him, the most important element in healing stories is spirit. To have this spirit, patients need to take full responsibility for their health, understanding that today's results are the consequence of nutrition and lifestyle, not due to bad genes or bad luck. Only then will patients realize their role, know that they need to control their condition, and make the right decisions.
Next, he shared his research on fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, mushrooms, etc., that have top anti-cancer effects; and how he uses juices, smoothies, and salads. After a rigorous 90-day healing process consisting solely of raw, unprocessed plant-based foods, he began to supplement his diet with some cooked and animal-based foods, explaining why and drawing on his later experiences. He also offered advice on which animal products to eat and which to avoid, both from a scientific perspective and based on his biblical beliefs.
Finally, he shared supportive methods and lifestyle changes, explaining the reasons behind them based on the scientific research he had found.
My review:
By sharing his own healing journey, I believe that patients in similar situations can consider his book a valuable source of emotional support, as he is living proof of the effectiveness of his treatment methods. Reading his collected research has also inspired me greatly, and I will try to collect more healing research and share it with you.

Note: Initially, the author used the title Chris beat cancer for his blog, but gradually he changed his perspective. He no longer viewed cancer as an enemy to be defeated, but rather as something to be cured.
